Have you ever said "yes" to God, only to feel like it led into a storm? Maybe the attacks of the enemy increased, through the loss of a great friend, or an uncontrolable catastraphe takes place. Sometimes these things happen and cause us to doubt our decision or even our calling itself.
I know I have expericed this many times in my life already. In fact the more I say "yes," the more intense the attacks become. The more I surrender, the more I have to constantly lean into Him to find strength and hope. I was reading through Luke 8 this week and verses 22-25 stuck out to me:

According to the Pew Research Center, nine out of ten American adults own a cell phone. We spend hours scrolling through social media, texting friends, playing games, listening to music, and watching Netflix, instead of meeting up with friends, making art, cleaning, cooking, exercising and more. Today I decided to look at my Screen Time app, and the results were eye-opening, to say the least!
Today, I picked up my phone 87 times. Did I have reason to use my phone today? Yes. But I know that I definitely did not need to use it 87 times. In fact, I would say that at least half of those pickups were out of boredom and procrastination of what I did need to accomplish today. |
